Soutine

Soutine is a Paris-style café and restaurant at 60 St John's Wood High Street, in an Edwardian building on a corner of the street. It opened in 2019 and is run by The Wolseley Hospitality Group, the team behind The Wolseley in Piccadilly. It takes its inspiration from the boulevard cafés of Paris and from the artistic history of St John's Wood.

Inside, a zinc-topped bar fills the front room, with vintage posters, paintings and cherry-panelled walls. The menu is classic French café cooking, served through the day, and more than half the wine list is available by the glass. There are plenty of vegetarian dishes too.

At the weekend, breakfast runs from 9am to 11.30am, then brunch until 5pm. Every day between 4pm and 6pm there is L'heure de l'apéro, with Jersey rock oysters at £1 each alongside a martini or a glass of crémant.

The restaurant opens at 11am on weekdays and 9am at the weekend. Last orders are 9.30pm on Monday and Tuesday, 10pm from Wednesday to Saturday and 9pm on Sunday.
