Beck's Barber

Beck's Barber is a traditional Turkish barbershop on St John's Wood High Street, run by Beck himself. He opened his first barbershop in Istanbul at 18 and has 27 years in the trade. In 2006 the Chamber of Barbers in Turkey gave him grandmaster craftsman status, a title passed on only after years of training.

The shop offers the full range of men's grooming. Haircuts and beard trims sit alongside the services the Turkish barbering tradition is known for: a cut-throat razor shave, a hot towel, a face mask, brow threading, ear candles and a splash of lemon cologne to finish. A head massage can be added on.

The full Beck's Barber service brings most of these together for an unhurried hour in the chair. You can walk in or book an appointment, and booking costs a little more than walking in. Prices for each service are listed on the website.

It is open seven days a week: 9am to 7pm on weekdays, 9am to 6pm on Saturday and 10am to 6pm on Sunday.
