Babbo
Babbo means daddy in Italian. The restaurant spent years in Mayfair before moving to 29-31 St John's Wood High Street, where it opened on Monday 9 December 2024 in the space that used to be Harry Morgan.
Executive chef Nicola Cariglia came with it. The menu sticks to Italian classics rooted in family cooking, and unlike the Mayfair original, it is open all day, from breakfast through to dinner.
There are three spaces to choose from: the main dining room with its bar, a smaller semi-private lounge and a covered, heated terrace out front that works most of the year.
Breakfast runs from 10am to 11.30am, Monday to Saturday. On match days at Lord's, breakfast hours are extended, so check Babbo's social channels before you go. From Monday to Friday there is aperitivo between 3pm and 5pm, which is a good time for a spritz and something small to eat. Lunch and dinner run every day, with later closing on Thursday, Friday and Saturday.
Tables can be booked through the website or by phone on 020 3725 1414. The terrace is popular at weekends, so book ahead if you want to sit outside.
